All About the Legs, Hips, and Low Back (9am-noon)
In this workshop you will learn to isolate, engage and strengthen the large muscle groups in the lower body in order to create the essential stabilization in your hip joints to create freedom in the low back. With a focus on functional movement, we will understand how every we pose we do is actually a full body experience and how the “core” is far more that the muscles in your belly.
Open to all levels of practitioners this practice will be focus on healthy alignment and muscle engagement as both a therapeutic practice as well as part of regular strength training. Whether you are a yoga teacher looking to gather more tools to help your students, looking to advance your practice or someone suffering from chronic pain or acute injury this workshop is a great fit for you.
Find Freedom in the Upper Back, Shoulders, and Neck (2:00-5:00pm)
Learn tools to release the deep postural muscles that get strained from time at a computer, long periods of sitting and time on your feet. Balancing these muscles can alleviate common issues like chronic fatigue, headaches, nerve pain and TMJ and leave the upper body with more freedom and fluidity. A deeply nourishing practice, we will explore many ways to unwind “mind pain” in order to calm the nervous system, release the inevitable anxiety that comes with modern life and help you deeply rest and restore.
Open to all levels of practitioners this practice will be focus on sliding, gliding and rocking movements to unwind the body’s stress response. Whether you are a yoga teacher looking to gather more tools to help your students, looking to advance your practice or someone suffering from chronic pain or acute injury this workshop is a great fit for you.
An ambient backdrop of music by DJ Drez will help set the tone for deep restoration.
We will break for lunch between noon and 2:00 so you can take a nice break and enjoy a light nurtritous lunch that you bring or we can point you in the direction of some healthy and tasty places ini the area to get a light bite.
